Old Features — Modern Style
I was playing around on my desktop style, at my old Laptop. Tonight I found a nice tranparent desktop-wallpaper layer.
This animated me again to mock up my desktop. I am using GNOME without any GL-extensions. So just by using "old-friends", like transparent panels and a Gdesklet applet, it comes pretty close to a Vista-ish look. I am also quite satisfied with most panel applets, which look much better on a transparent panel, than they looked a few years back. Watch the proof. I uploaded some screenshots into my Gallery, which is always worth a look.
