Fake OSX with GNOME

I was a little bit bored last night, when I stumbled on to the website of Lauri Taimila's. He tries to tweak the GNOME-Desktop to MacOS-Look. So I tried some themes he recommends just for fun. The basic look is really easy to change anyway. I didn't try to change all details. But it was a funny game anyway. ;-)

And of course I made some exclusive screenshots for my Blog-readers.

Old Features — Modern Style

I was playing around on my desktop style, at my old Laptop. Tonight I found a nice tranparent desktop-wallpaper layer.modern style This animated me again to mock up my desktop. I am using GNOME without any GL-extensions. So just by using "old-friends", like transparent panels and a Gdesklet applet, it comes pretty close to a Vista-ish look. I am also quite satisfied with most panel applets, which look much better on a transparent panel, than they looked a few years back. Watch the proof. I uploaded some screenshots into my Gallery, which is always worth a look.

Screenshots

Clearlooks2-Squared

Das neue "Clearlooks2-Squared" Fensterleisten-Theme für GNOME sieht einfach schön aus. Das musste einfach mal gesagt werden. Screenshot
